Essentrics with Alison

What is Essentrics®?
Essentrics® is a functional fitness program which simultaneously lengthens and strengthens all muscles of the body, leaving you feeling rebalanced and energized. While the technique is original, it has been influenced by the current science of the human body, the flowing movement of Tai Chi, and the strengthening theories of ballet. Essentrics® has a strong following in Quebec and Ontario and is becoming more popular around the world as word spreads about this exciting and innovative approach to fitness.
The low-impact, equipment-free workouts involve dynamic strength and flexibility exercises designed to relieve tension in the joints, soften connective tissue, and increase range of motion. The intelligent design of the program means every movement has an objective and benefit. Classes are set to a diverse music playlist and include a combination of standing and floor work. With over 1000 instructors world-wide, Essentrics® is helping people increase mobility, reduce aches and pains, and enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle. Join in the next class to see what it’s about!

Feel Good In Your Body
The ultimate goal of Essentrics® is to help you feel good in your body - for all the years of your life - so you can do the things you love. The gentle, yet powerful workouts are a way of keeping your full body (that includes fingers and feet) strong, flexible, and mobile.
Boost Your Posture
Improved posture is one of the greatest benefits of regular Essentrics® workouts. The unique approach addresses the issue of poor posture by using the arms as "equipment" to eccentrically elongate muscles of the spine while also focusing on related muscles chains and body alignment.

Power up Your Game
Essentrics® is a wonderful complement to the activities you are already doing and will give you an edge on the rink, court, or course. Professional and amateur athletes in hockey, basketball, football, figure skating, and diving do Essentrics® to improve agility, speed, and range of motion.
Who is doing Essentrics®?
Men and women of all ages enjoy the fluid, dynamic technique that is challenging and healing at the same time. Devotees include athletes who need maximum range of motion for optimum performance, seniors looking to maintain strength and mobility, and adults looking to improve their posture.
